ISME Calls For National Representation Forum To Replace Social Partnership

Government – Business vacuum has developed due to demise of discredited Partnership.
Economic recovery being hampered by lack of consultation.
Openness and transparency to replace the cosy cronyism of big business and big unions.
New forum to assist, advise and independently evaluate Government programmes and economic policies.

ISME, the Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association, has called on the Government to immediately replace the now defunct Social Partnership, with a National Representation Forum, to drive economic recovery. The Association outlined, that contrary to what was in place in the past, this newly proposed forum should include representatives from the SME sector, and not be dominated by big business and public sector Unions.
