Responding to the unemployment statistics in the latest Quarterly National Household Survey, issued today (Thursday 7th June), ISME, the Irish Small & Medium Enterprises Association, described the current unemployment situation as ‘disastrous’. A survey by ISME, the Irish Small & Medium Enterprises Association, confirms that the decision to reduce the employers rebate on redundancies from 60% to 15%, in effect increasing the costs of redundancy for employers by 112%, is having a ‘devastating’ impact on smaller companies.
