Reacting to today’s Live Register and Redundancy figures, ISME, the Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association, has demanded that the Government acknowledge that their jobs initiative is not gaining traction and should act decisively before so many more citizens are placed on the dole. Redundancy Figures Confirm ‘Desperate’ Job Situation

ISME, the Irish Small & Medium Enterprises Association, in response to the latest Redundancy figures, published today (Friday 1st July), called on the Government to take every conceivable action necessary to tackle unemployment. The Association outlined that the negative business environment, the social welfare system and the black economy, were all contributing substantially to the jobs ‘crisis’.

According to ISME Chief Executive, Mark Fielding, “While the number of reported redundancies is down on the corresponding period last year, the reality is that 175 redundancies are being recorded on a daily basis in June. Read the rest of this entry »
